Danielle Johnson, DVM

Dr. Johnson grew up in Red Wing, Minnesota, and graduated from the University of Illinois Veterinary School in 2002. She worked in central Illinois for several years before settling in St. Croix County in 2009. In 2011, Dr. Johnson purchased Homestead Veterinary Clinic (formerly St. Croix Valley Veterinary Clinic).

Homestead Veterinary Clinic’s motto, Helping People Help Their Pets, reflects Dr. Johnson’s belief that veterinary medicine is also human service profession. People are enriched by the pets who share their lives and are the ultimate beneficiaries of happy, healthy pets. This human dimension adds another level of satisfaction to a job she already loves.

Throughout her career, Dr. Johnson has enjoyed honing her veterinary skills, especially in surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine. As a veterinary student, she was taught that the key to success is to never lose the passion for learning. She continuously works to improve her medical knowledge as well as her communication skills.

When clients understand treatment options, they are able to make the best decisions for their pets. Being able to explain complex conditions in a way that pet owners understand is essential to Helping People Help Their Pets.”
